Wesley and I (along with my folks) made a weekend trip to Westminister Colorado for a family reunion on my mother's side. I met many new people and was able to connect faces to names and understand who goes with who. It was so nice of Kieth and Laura to invite us in their home and organize this wonderful family event. Many thanks to them and the other siblings who helped with the many preparations.

This is my parents, my grandma, Wes and myself. One of the blessings of two kids is that we can split them up when needed. I was able to take Wesley and spend some one on one with him and Ben took Reese for the weekend. He took him to work and they did a lot of fishing, checking job sites etc... Reese didn't feel slighted not going on an airplane b/c he knew he would get some good one on one with dad, and I was able to enjoy my trip more with only one to look after. Whether we are together for these events or not, it takes both Ben and I working together to make them happen successfully. ;)

The first night we arrived, Wes burnt his hand on my curling iron as I was getting ready. Unfortunately, it hampered our plans a little as he refused to take his hand out of this ice bucket for over 3 hours!!! By the time I got him to take it out (right before bed), we had missed the dinner and he had 4 blisters! Poor 'lil thing...

Both my grandmas live in Arizona (where I was born) and I only get to see them once a year- sometimes less. When I do get to see them, it is very exciting and I cherish every minute. My Grandma Dorthy has been such a blessing in my life- always making me feel like the most beautiful, smartest thing- even in my most awkward years. Everyone needs at least one person like this. I am thankful that after the reunion, she flew back to MN with us and is here for a week!!!!!!

Now this is one weary travler!!!

It is so nice to see family when they live far away. We are planning a trip out east in September to see my family. I am so excited. Doesnt it sorta bring you back to being a little girl again when you are around your grandmother? Glad to hear you had a nice time.
