There are some days that if you could, you'd repeat over and over. Remember that movie 'Ground Hogs Day' with Bill Murray? Loved that flick. Anyway, this last Sunday was one of those days that if I could, I'd repeat at least every weekend. We had no work and no place we had to be. The day started with 'home church' where we opted to read from the Bible at home instead of actually going to church. Then since the weather was looking to be a great day (no snow in the forecast anyway) we decided to go canoeing. We packed some snacks (an important detail with two young boys) and headed out for about a 2 and a half hour trip with one stop at a park along the way. We pointed out EVERY soft shelled turtle we saw and made it a game. The 'Rum River' should really be called 'Turtle River' as there are literally dozens everywhere... and many of them are Huge as the ones you see above. The day continued to be very relaxed with time spent in the yard, a trip out to eat and ended with movie night snuggled on the couch before bed. A GREAT day in my book.

Rae, that first picture is really cool. What a great day. I cannot wait to get our kids up there this summer and just enjoy MINNESOTA. That is what it is to me... boats, water... peaceful nature sounds. Glad you had such a wonderful day together! I didn't know there were soft-shelled turtles!
Sounds like you enjoyed a great family dy. That just warm my heart.
