Well, today is a big day...
Our journey has taken an interesting and exciting turn. Over the last several months we feel God's leading into adoption. After a lot of praying, thinking and investigating on the topic, we've decided to persue this leading and we've settled on European Children Adoption Services. Today we started the 'Paper pregnancy' if you will... It will be a 12-14 month process at the end of which we hope to have a little girl from Russia or somewhere around there. We're hoping for a baby but she may be a toddler. There are so many unknowns and what ifs but we trust God's leading on this and in the end, we'll have what we are meant to have. Please join us by praying for us along this journey.... that everything will be according to His plan, the logistics of traveling will go smoothly, the finances, the health of our child, the future adjustments etc... The whole thing is way too overwhelming to take in so piece by piece we'll be learning as we go. As you might guess, I'll be sharing some of the journey on this blog. Thanks for all your support as we embark on this great adventure!!!

Congratulations, Ben & Rachel! I've been praying for you guys with all of this, and now that I hear you say it, I know you are heading down a wonderful path. Please keep us posted. Oh Rachel, how wonderful. I am very excited for you guys. What a big decision. Keith and I have looked into it too, but at this time in our life have ultimately decided against it for so many different reasons.... I will be thinking of you along this journey and wish the best possible outcome for all. I look forward to reading about how it goes for you!

Wow. I'm choked up reading this! I can feel your joy in the very idea of it... and of bringing a little girl into your family. Oh, my goodness... I will definitely pray for your family, for that little girl who may be joining your family soon, and just for everything along the way. Congratulations on the exciting news! A friend of mine went through 2 adoptions and she referred to the process as "the pregnancy without a due date". :-) Here's to waiting for little Miss Minks! Yay!
