McCain and Palin were in town last week (only the next city over) and my mom and I couldn't resist the opportunity. So, we did what any girl would do... we donned our Sarah Palin hair and off we went! It was a beautiful day. After a bit of a wait in the car, and about a mile walk, we chose to stand in a line to do volunteer calling in order to get 'VIP seats' ... later we learned this meant 'The front section of standing room packed in like sardines'. Nonetheless, we got a little closer than we otherwise would have. We spent about 15 minutes making 24 calls each and attempting to survey people. I did the very thing I hate getting. Oh well, a girl's gotta do... Anyway, it was a tremendous experience- so exciting. There were around 13,000 people all packed into a huge, open airplane hanger at the Blaine Airport. There was music, several local officials and of course, the exciting arrivals of the main event. The speeches were great- very inspiring. I loved that McCain ended his speech by honoring some local war heroes and then asked everyone to clap long and loud for all those fighting for us.... very humble of him. Clearly, I'm a big supporter. I know these are very tough times right now... not sure what's ahead. As I write, there's news of the largest bank melt down ever- Washington Mutual. Ultimately, none of us is in control and the things we hold so tightly are not certain. Nothing is secure in this life. For me, I have to support the candidates that look to something greater than themselves in their decision making. That support the sanctity of life and the protection of personal faith. That believe in less government control and more personal responsibility. For me, these two most closely match my own personal belief system and I am proud to support them. If you disagree with me, that's the greatness of our country... the very freedom to have that choice that so many have died for.

I love that Palin's husband travels with her. On the other side of her stands Mrs. Pawlenty and Norm Coleman is on the other side of Todd Palin.
Michelle Bachman- love her too
