Keepin Busy

Big cardboard boxes + extra, old paint = loads of creative fun!
Barb, her husband Mike and 5 boys used to be our neighbors.
Mike got stationed in Europe so they moved 3 years ago. Her two youngest boys were both around Reese's age and its been 3 years since they've seen eachother, but they all remembered eachother! It was so cute to see them pick up right where they left off. Now, Wes is the age they were when they last all played together.
Reese and Wes's scavenger hunt!
You can tell I've been scrounging for fun things to do around the house....
After making the list below, I let Reese take my camera and he and Wes went all over the yard taking pics of stuff on the list. Some of their findings are below.
They were both so excited to have found everything on the list!
Frogs, catapillars, worms and bugs have been apart of our daily life this summer.
This particular frog was a true treasure in Reese's mind.
Lots of water fun this Summer too.
The kids are just at the BEST ages!

So glad to see the boys are helping you get by each day. That is so cute that they took your camera and went around taking pictures. Just like Mom. Stay strong!!

Nice idea with the boxes (and cheap!)... and love the photo scavenger hunt too (kinda like our polaroid parties, only digital!). Glad to see you are jumping right back into life with your boys. Life doesn't miss a beat with them, does it? Love you and still remembering you my prayers too - I'll try to call soon!

gotta love the slip n slide. i have a favorite story book about a girl and her boxes that she plays with and rearranges into many different things, until they finally fall apart. i use to imagine that i was that girl. i'm sure the boys loved every minute of it.
