Ok, so I am finally sitting down to finish sharing about our trip... Ben met us at the end of our stay in Prescott and took the almost 7 hour road trip with us to California. The biggest reason we wanted to go was to show the kids the ocean. Reese is obsessed with everything about the sea and has been asking us to bring him to see the ocean. We figured this would be our last chance for a while.... Ben's good friend Erik (they went to school together from K-12th grade) lives in CA with his wife Summer and two boys and they offered to let us stay in their rental investment home within a block from the beach. It took about two seconds to take them up on that generous offer! The night we got in, we brought the kids down to the ocean and it was like magic. It was a foggy night but still light enough to see and the kids were so excited!!! That was definately a major highlight. So we got in some great beach time (and Reese filled his quota of sea shells) and also made time to visit Sea World and the San Diego Zoo. Both were amazing.I was glad to be able to enjoy all the excursions as right before I left for CA, I ended up going on meds for severe preggo sickness. It got to the point where I couldn't drink water. Thankfully, my Dr. wrote a perscription while I was in AZ and helped me to enjoy the rest of the time. God took great care of me! And my family was glad for that also. :)
Erik's sister Malia watched the kids one night for us so we could go have dinner in quiet! It was really special b/c it was also Erik and Summer's 6th wedding anniversary.

Dads with thier kids-n- teacups, things sure have changed since highschool! Thanks Erik and Summer for being our personal tour guides! We had a BLAST with you and our kids keep talking about being at 'Finley and Felix's house'. :)

It was a wonderful two weeks but it always feels good to come home. ;)

So funny to see this. I just got off the phone with my brother, who was out with Malia (just friends!) last night. Great pics. Glad your kids could experience the ocean!!! I'll bet they brought home some great memories from that trip. Fun to see Erik's family - his kids have grown up so much too.
Sorry to hear about sickness...sounds like how it was for me with Jenna! Hmmmm. Are you going to find out? And when?!
Looks like you guys had a very full trip! You'd never guess that you were feeling sick! You still managed to fit in a lot of great stuff and take awesome pictures. I feel for you with the morning sickness. Hopefully it will pass quickly for you. Rest up!
Looks like you had a great time. I went to the San Diego Zoo as a child and still remember it to this day. What great memories for the kids!
