Please, Please Pray..
I write this with a very heavy heart... Not for me but for our adoptive child. We've recently learned that her adoptive father is persuing legal adoption after 9 months. That alone grieves us but much bigger than that is the fact that there is child abuse in his history. To say that he is unfit to raise this little girl is an understatement. Our agency has given us no hope. They've all but written this case off- telling us that there is a 99% chance that he will be able to do this. They say that if we fight this they will not be allowed to adopt any other children from this orphanage. Ben went to our adoption agency on Friday right after we found out, and they even told him that they've already started to "look for another referral". He slammed his fist on the table and said, "No, stop, THIS is the child we want, SHE is our child. This is evil, wrong and unholy." That pretty much sums up how we feel. We've been praying for her since we learned about her in June and even longer before we knew her. She is ours. And whether or not she lives in this home, we will pray for her our whole lives. But we are not accepting that she will not grow up here right now. Friends, this is a spiritual battle to the Nth degree. This is a battle for not just her life, but her soul. It is not about us but about a defenseless child with no voice that faces a lifetime of abuse. We know God is so much bigger than this. He is able to do what we cannot imagine. We have and will be continuing to fight this battle on our knees. Please join us as God calls you to.
Prayer is everything.
1 Cor. 16:13- Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong.

What a pull on the heart strings. I had my hand to my chest as I was reading this knowing that she is a helpless little life that needs someone to protect her. My prayers are with you AND her! Stay strong!
We love you all so much Rachel! We are standing with you and her...God is the defender of the weak, He lifts us all.
This is definitely a spritual battle, and we will all fight this together! You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Love you much!
Thanks for sharing the update, I will be praying for wisdom as you wait and take action on this.
