We talk about Jesus and having Him in your heart a lot around here. Reese is always one to ask lots of questions. Recently while we were in Cancun Wes told my mom that he asked Jesus to come in his heart but He didn't come... Its a big concept for a 3 year old to grasp! We do our best to explain it in a way for him to understand. We tell him that Jesus is your friend if you want Him to be and if you ask Him in your life you can go to Heaven. This last week, while I was making his lunch he told me he did want Jesus to live in him. I wouldn't push my kids to do this at such a young age but if they initiate its worth making a big deal of! So of course, I hugged him and told him we'd wait for daddy so he can share in the special time too. When daddy got home we told him what Wes wanted to do. We were all excited, sat on the couch and daddy led Wes in a prayer. Wes folded his hands and repeated after his daddy. Afterwards I told him the angels were dancing and singing in celebration for him. He has no idea the impact of what this decision means yet. But our prayer for him is that as he grows, he will have a close relationship with the Lord that goes beyond religion. Life is not easy but knowing the Lord brings hope and meaning to everything we do. Reese asked Jesus in his heart when he was 3 also. I was just reading my friend's blog where they were celebrating a "Re-birthday". Every year she celebrates the day her kids asked Jesus in their heart and she talks with them about what that means. I think that's a great idea and something I may try in April for Reese's 3rd "Re-birthday". Jesus loves you both so much Reese and Wesley!

I just love how innocent they are, yet how great their faith can be. Way to go, Wes! How exciting for you as parents to see him discover Jesus.
