I know I've been a bad blogger lately but sit tight, this is going to be a looooooong post...
Thank You!!!
Our hotel- Beach Palace Resort, we would highly recommend it!!! The front of our hotel faced the huge lagoon (that our room overlooked) and the back was right on the Ocean. We had a corner room so we were able to see the beach from the side of our patio (shown below). One of my favorite downtimes was reading on the chase.
Here are some friends we got to spend lots of time with: 1) Jim and Diana Beardsley (one of the subs- excavating- who made this trip possible for us... Actually it was Diana who talked Ben into looking this trip- thanks a million!!). 2) Kevin and Kristi Olson- Kevin owns Grand Design- the design company that operates out of our building. They both have gotten to be good friends of ours.
Ben and I ventured out one day for a day in the jungle. We rode the zip-lines (an obstacle course where you swing on cables like Tarzan (and Jane) from palm tree to palm tree), mountain bike, and I dared to do the Tarzan jump (from about a 75ft. platform- a freefall jump then a swing on a rope). I got over my fear of heights that day.... It was so much fun!!!
Yes, the water is really THAT blue!! So amazing to us Minnesotans...
Just another day at the office... :)
The Builders Club arranged a day where everyone was to go to the nearby 'Island Mujeres' (the Land of Woman) for a day of beach fun. There were contests and relays. One of the events was for each team to build a bike... Later in the day, we were able to personally present the the bike to needy and deserving kids in the area. The kids were local school children that were chosen by the principal for their school grades, behavior and financial neediness. It was very emotional for all involved when the students arrived carrying these handmade thank-you cards. The picture above shows them arriving. We greeted them by making an aisle and clapping as they came down. The picture below is Ben helping to give the bike to this adorable girl on behalf of our green team. Her card in Spanish said she "would take care of the bike with love" among other things. How much we take for granted in America!

Hola and welcome back! It looks like you had a great time! We went to Cancun few years ago and our favorite day of our trip was when we spent the day on Isla Mujeres.
Looks like you had a great time! Thanks for the pics, I think they warmed me up a bit! :-)
